TAG-Knowledge Society Organizes a Seminar on Combating Narcotics and Drugs

The seminar highlighted legal, health and awareness factors in respect of fighting drugs as well as the effects and consequences of both using and dealing in narcotics of different types

AMMAN------- January 20, 2011--------- Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Society (TAG-Knowledge) in cooperation with the Anti-Narcotics Department, affiliate of the Public Security Directorate organized recently a seminar on combating narcotics and drugs.

The seminar was presented by Lieutenant Nabeel Alrawashdeh from the Anti- Narcotics Department and attended by a host of TAG-Knowledge members and concerned people.

Mr. Alrawashdeh highlighted legal, health and awareness factors in respect of fighting drugs as well as the effects and consequences of both using and dealing in narcotics of different types. The audience also tackled the most common ways of drug distribution through discussing real stories that happened to students which helped increase the awareness of youth about this dangerous epidemic that destroys the youth.

Mr. Tarek Hammad, executive director of TAG-Knowledge valued the role of the Public Security Directorate, in particular, the Anti- Narcotics Department in fighting this phenomenon and in knowing all its different aspects and the new modern ways of educating the youth and preventing all the citizens from falling into this dangerous evil.

Mr. Hammad also requested increasing the youth centers and activating their role in guiding and increasing awareness about the dangers of this phenomenon.

At the end of the seminar, participants thanked the Anti-Narcotics Department for its efforts especially Lieutenant Alrawashdeh for the educational seminar and the valuable information. They also urged TAG-Knowledge for more seminars that are related to civil community as a whole and students' community in particular.
